Person behind the pixels

About the Operator

I point cameras at dim things, argue with calibration frames, and put the results here with enough sky context to keep the pictures honest.

Whirlpool Galaxy capture

Capture

The photos come from nights spent with Nikon Zfc, QHY268C, and ZWO ASI2600MC Duo image sets, plus the usual negotiation with clouds.

Processing

The heavy lifting happens offline. The site gets web-ready versions that are light enough to move and honest enough to keep around.

Context

Coordinates travel with the pictures, so a pretty patch of space can remain anchored to its actual spot on the celestial sphere.
